Career Rising is a DC-based social enterprise created to close the gap between what young adults bring to the workplace—and what employers expect. We provide training and coaching that help Gen Z build the confidence, communication skills, and professionalism needed to succeed in today’s fast-changing job market. Our programs are delivered directly to young people and in partnership with high schools, colleges, and businesses.
Who we are
Nancy Chervin, Co-Founder
Nancy Chervin brings over 15 years of experience designing impactful employability programs around the globe. She specializes in building scalable learning strategies that align educational and workforce needs, with proven success across 20+ countries. Nancy is also a leadership and career coach, currently completing her Professional Coaching Certification. Her focus on soft skills, purpose, and personalized growth is central to Career Rising’s coaching model. She holds a four-year professional certificate in Energy Healing from the world-renowned Barbara Brennan School of Healing, with training in energy healing and personal transformation. Nancy earned her MA in International Education from George Washington University and her BA from McGill University.
Nancy Taggart, Co-Founder
Nancy Taggart has twenty years of experience designing and managing programs focused on skill building and workforce development for youth, girls and women around the world. She has served in leadership roles within government, private sector and non-profit organizations where she has led fundraising, provided high-quality management and developed strategy. She has successfully developed and maintained effective partnerships with the private sector, governments, multi-lateral institutions, and foundations. Throughout her career, Nancy has served as a thought leader on youth, women’s education and training and workforce development. She holds an MA from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a BA in History from Northwestern University. She speaks English and French and she lives in Washington DC.
