About us
Career Rising is a DC-based social enterprise created to close the gap between what young adults bring to the workplace—and what employers expect. We provide online and in-person trainings to help Gen Z build the confidence, communication skills, and professionalism needed to succeed in today’s fast-changing job market. Our programs are delivered directly to young people and in partnership with high schools, colleges, and businesses.
Nancy Taggart, Founder
I am a youth development and workforce expert and a parent of my own Gen Z 20-year old college student. In 2025, I pivoted my 25 years of experience designing and managing international skill building and workforce development programs to create Career Rising and support young people in the U.S. I have developed workforce programs in partnership with vocational training and higher education systems and private sector, such as McKinsey, Cisco, and Microsoft. I served in leadership roles within government, private sector and non-profit organizations where I led fundraising, provided high-quality management and developed strategy.
I have an MA from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a BA in History from Northwestern University. I live in Washington DC.
